Story

Subaru of America, Inc. (“SOA”) and Subaru South Charlotte presented a check for $83,640 to Nourish Up as a local beneficiary in the 2023 Subaru Share the Love Event®

In its 16th year, Subaru’s signature philanthropic event has donated more than $287 million to more than 2,100 charity partners nationwide. At the conclusion of the 2023 Subaru Share the Love Event®, the automaker and Subaru South Charlotte have donated $562,227 to charity.

From mid-November through the end of the calendar year, with every new Subaru purchased or leased, Subaru donated $250 to each customer’s choice of charities. For 2023, SOA selected the four national charities: ASPCA®, Make-A-Wish®, Meals on Wheels America, and National Park Foundation. Subaru retailers could also elect to add a local charity and Subaru South Charlotte selected Nourish Up as its hometown charity and matched SOA’s contribution for each new car sold during the event.

The check for $83,640 was presented to Tina Postel, CEO of Nourish Up by Lisa Jakiel and Jason Williamson of Subaru of America’s Atlanta Zone and Bill Musgrave, Gary Porter, Steve Porter, and Whitney Marti, all of Subaru South Charlotte.

“We are grateful for this meaningful gift and feel so fortunate to be the beneficiary of Subaru of America and Subaru South Charlotte’s amazing generosity,” said Nourish Up CEO Tina Postel. “These dollars directly translate into nourishing meals and groceries for our neighbors in need. At a time when food insecurity is at an all-time high, we rely on a network of community partners and volunteers to meet the demand. In just the last year we provided groceries to more than 137,000 people in our community. Our friends at Subaru have stepped up in a big way to help us address this growing problem. They are true hunger heroes! Thank you, Subaru, for sharing the love.”

This is the seventh year that Subaru South Charlotte selected our organization as its Hometown Charity partner. Over the seven years, Nourish Up has received over $313,700 from the Subaru Share the Love Event.
