This Fall marks the launch of the first USD MBA×CauseCircle Program, a new partnership between the University of San Diego and CauseCircle that pairs MBA students with local nonprofits to turn community impact into stories that inspire action.
Today, the program unveils its inaugural Fall 2025 cohort — six nonprofits leading vital, mission-driven work across San Diego. Each one is doing incredible, mission-driven work right here in the San Diego community.
Computers 2 Kids is tackling the digital divide head-on. By refurbishing donated computers and pairing them with digital literacy training, they’ve distributed more than 200,000 devices while recycling nearly a million pounds of electronics. The result? Families gain access to education, jobs, and opportunities that depend on technology.

When Fern Street Circus sets up in a local park, something magical happens. Families gather, children laugh, and neighbors connect over free, family-friendly performances that mix acrobatics, live music, and theater. Their community-based “social circus” also trains young people in circus arts, turning public spaces into stages of belonging and joy.

This initiative pairs USD MBA students with local nonprofits to create authentic stories that grow awareness, inspire generosity, and increase donations. Students gain real-world marketing experience while amplifying missions that matter in San Diego.
Over the course of the semester, student teams will support nonprofits in creating authentic stories on CauseCircle.org — building a living library of content that nonprofits can use for fundraising, donor updates, and community engagement. It’s a practical, hands-on way to learn while giving local nonprofits simple tools to grow awareness and generosity.
At CauseCircle, we believe stories are bridges — they connect people to missions, spark generosity, and remind us that change is possible when communities come together. Too often, these stories stay untold. This program is our way of bringing them forward.
By pairing USD MBA students with local nonprofits, we’re creating space for the next generation of leaders to contribute meaningfully right now. Students aren’t just learning about marketing in theory — they’re building real campaigns, amplifying real voices, and leaving a lasting impact on the community they call home.
For nonprofits, each story shared on CauseCircle becomes part of a living library of hope and action. For students, each project becomes proof that their skills can drive positive change. Together, it’s a reminder that when stories are shared, generosity grows — and when young leaders step in, the future looks brighter for everyone.
