Support Our Mission

Mission and Goal
To help our wounded warriors, veterans and active duty personnel by teaching them how to surf no matter what shortcomings they may have. A great day surfing at the beach with family, friends and the local community is the goal of Soldiers Surf.

Soldiers SurfTM (Formerly VetSurf) was started by Mike Tubridy in 2016. Mike is the founder of Soldiers Surf. He is a retired CFO and athlete who has competed his whole life – URI football, Boston Rugby (3rd in the nation) and sprint triathlons for 20 years. However, his main passion has been always been surfing and he has been fortunate to surf throughout the world. Inspired by his daughter he decided in 2015 that he wanted to help out our wounded warriors by starting Soldiers Surf. The concept being that when you are in the water surfing you leave all your troubles on land and the only thing you are thinking about is catching the next wave. In June, 2016 the first Soldiers Surf event was held at Narragansett Beach in Rhode Island. This will be the seventh year we are hosting our Soldiers Surf events.
