A woman from Worcestershire has pleaded guilty to her involvement in a worldwide monkey torture ring. She is charged with publishing an obscene article, distributing an image and 26 horrifying monkey crush videos online, and paying money to watch the torture of a baby macaque.

Adriana Orme is one of two U.K. women charged in connection with brutal monkey torture videos. She allegedly belonged to online groups that brainstormed violent ways to torture and kill baby monkeys and then paid people in Indonesia to carry out the acts on camera.

Lady Freethinker (LFT) and Action for Primates (AfP) first investigated and exposed the disturbing underground world of baby monkey crush videos in 2021. They also provided information to the BBC, leading to the investigative documentary, “The Monkey Haters.”

Since then, at least 20 people have been investigated, and some have been sentenced to prison for their unspeakable actions.

“These videos contain the most horrifying content I have encountered in my years of working in animal protection,” AfP Co-founder Sarah Kite told the Daily Mail. “For people such as Orme to think up methods of torturing helpless and vulnerable baby monkeys is beyond comprehension. To then pay for someone to inflict such extreme violence is so disturbing that I believe they must permanently be barred from having contact with children or animals.”

LFT applauds those involved Orme’s arrest and the charges filed for her part in spreading this gruesome, heartbreaking content. But there is still work to be done.
