DENVER, CO (8-07-2024) — Pro-Life Generation (PLG) CEO Kristan Hawkins announced a new billboard in Denver directing women to an abortion alternative and resource website, StandingWithYou.org, which has generated a more than 14% increase in website traffic.

The billboard was part of an ongoing educational campaign in the abortion-extreme state of Colorado to let women know that LIFE is a choice, and the Pro-Life Generation is here to help. Now that the strategy has been tested and shown to move women toward life-affirming abortion alternatives, more billboards are scheduled to be posted in Colorado in the coming year.

In 2021, the Campaign forAbortion Free Cities (AFC) launched its efforts in Denver. Since then, this citywide campaign has developed new strategies to increase awareness of local Pregnancy Help Centers (PHC) and change hearts and minds on abortion. The first two years of the campaign saw great success, proving its methods could increase awareness of local PHCs by 20%, on average. Now, with 35 active campaigns in 25 states, the Pro-Life Generation is expanding into Colorado Springs for its next test with targeted digital and billboard advertisements as well as an innovative grassroots strategy to both educate the public about available resources and decrease community reliance on Planned Parenthood’s abortion industry.  

“In a state where leadership is so committed to radical abortion extremism, they are going after peaceful Pregnancy Help Centers offering free services, it can be difficult for women who want to embrace their children to know where to go. Our campaign connects mothers and young families in need with people who care,” said Hawkins. 

The Campaign for Abortion Free Cities’ 2024 year-long campaign is aimed at building up a network of grassroots, local volunteers to support pregnant and parenting women and steer the community away from the predatory abortion business.

In February 2024, paid Google advertisements sent Denver citizens to the Pro-Life Generation’s Standing With You (SWY) website, which connects mothers to local non-violent pregnancy options. This effort was expanded in the community with a billboard in July, gaining an estimated 1,000,000 impressions in the Denver area.

The results include changing minds, starting conversations, and raising awareness for resources, as evidenced by the following numbers:

  • 14% increase in StandingWithYou.org website traffic from Denver viewers since the billboard became active  
  • 81 mothers that we know of have been connected to their local PHC since running Google advertisements in February 2024

“We have proven that by speaking the truth about abortion through paid advertisements, we can make a difference for mothers in vulnerable situations and preborn children, even in the abortion extreme state of Colorado,” said Hawkins. “However, our work is far from over. We look forward to launching our state-wide campaign and increasing awareness and more appointments for PHCs in Colorado and nationwide, as well as the detrimental impact of Planned Parenthood on women and their preborn children.”     

Over the last two years, the Campaign for Abortion Free Cities has recruited and developed local leaders to change the culture across Colorado. Starting in Denver and now expanding into Colorado Springs, we have:   

  • Knocked on 10,962 doors  
  • Spoken with 954 neighbors  
  • Reached over 1,000,000 community members with our  abortion-alternative website marketing campaigns   
  • Connected 1,127 women & mothers to PHCs    
  • Held 82,606 conversations online, changing 14,867 Coloradian minds on abortion
     

Following this success, the Campaign for Abortion Free Cities will expand in 2024 by launching a multi-faceted approach in Colorado Springs designed to decrease community trust in Planned Parenthood’s abortion facility by 10% in the first year. Using tested strategies and innovative tools, a series of pro-life advertisements and community outreach events are in motion to hit the abortion industry where it hurts: their income.

Upcoming events include:

  • Rallies and public displays engaging the community
  • Flyering and print advertisements warning the community of Planned Parenthood’s dangerous business practices
  • Canvassing to reach 5,000 neighbors at the door with abortion alternatives
  • Mobile billboard truck stop educating the community about the reality of Colorado’s late-term abortions
  • Colorado Springs billboard advertising StandingWithYou.org resources
  • Colorado Springs-based Google advertisements connecting women to PHCs
  • Baby item drives & church partnership events to support local families in need

Thanks to the strategy of the Campaign for Abortion Free Cities, predatory abortion businesses like Planned Parenthood will have significantly less impact in our communities.
