The California Endowment (TCE) has partnered with Linc Housing to transform the backlot of TCE’s existing property in downtown Los Angeles into the Robert K. Ross Center for Hope and Healing, a thriving, mixed-use campus with housing and services that will uplift Los Angeles’ diverse communities. The proposed development includes affordable and supportive apartment homes for low-income individuals and families earning 30% to 60% of the area median income, and a community center for the surrounding neighborhood. Wraparound supportive services will be provided to residents who have experienced homelessness. The development will also transform the surrounding neighborhood into a more walkable, connected, and welcoming environment.

The community care component will provide over 60,000 square feet of community service space for nonprofits and community service-based organizations as well as over 20,000 square feet of outdoor common space and plazas. A “Gather and Spirit” hub will provide large and small conference rooms and gathering spaces for the community. A “Mind and Body” hub will provide spaces for mental and physical health services to holistically care for the community. Finally, a “Work and Learn” hub will provide classroom and other amenity spaces to promote learning, skills-building, and entrepreneurship. Through services that target justice-impacted populations, this property will be a model for what is possible when re-imagining alternatives to incarceration locally and nation-wide.
