Our partner Vehicles for Charity accepts nearly every vehicle into the program, including cars, trucks, boats, motorcycles and RVs! In fact, vehicles do not need to be in new or even running condition. The vehicle must have an engine and be towable. However, restrictions based on the vehicle’s condition may apply, especially for non-cars (boats, RVs, etc). You can learn more about your vehicle’s compatibility withe the program when you first reach out to Vehicles for Charity.
- AWS cannot accept the vehicle directly. We do not have the ability ourselves to tow or salvage a vehicle. Therefore, we partner with Vehicles for Charity. You will be working with them directly.
- Vehicles for Charity is also a nonprofit and works exclusively with organizations like AWS to offer towing and salvage services.
- The title must be clear. According to Vehicles for Charity’s website: A clear title is “a title with your name listed as the owner on the front of the title, without an assignment or transferred to another person. All liens must be released prior to donating the vehicle.”
- Vehicles for Charity will send the proceeds (minus their processing fees) directly to AWS. You will be notified of the vehicle’s sale and processing.
- Your donation may be tax deductible. Vehicles for Charity offers tax benefit resources on their website. Visit their website or reach out to your tax professional with questions.
