Hope for Melan’s Family
Melan and her husband have been the pillars of their family, caring not only for their three children but also opening their hearts and home to 3 orphaned children from within their community. Their noble act of love is an inspiration in itself, but their path has been shadowed by the harsh reality of food scarcity.
Melan and her family live in Zambia — one of the hungriest countries in the world.
Nearly half of Zambia’s population does not know where they will find their next meal.
Melan’s husband is unemployed, and they are moving around constantly as he looks for work. He spends his days doing odd jobs and working long hours for minimal pay. Melan spends her time taking care of their children and making sure they get are getting an education.
Even though they work tirelessly to provide for their family, the increasing food prices have made it near impossible to afford food for their family. There were many nights the whole family went to bed hungry — but not anymore.
Around the world, millions of mothers and fathers are putting their kids to bed at night hungry, not knowing when their next meal will come.
When our distribution partner, World Help, brought Hands Against Hunger® meals to Melan and her family, the relief was unmistakable. Melan was overjoyed. “The rice meals help us to feed our kids because we cannot buy food. Thank you!”
The Hands Against Hunger® meals provide a relief valve for Melan and her husband, their wages now free to pay bills and invest in a future beyond vulnerability.
Because of generous donors like you that she will likely never meet, Melan knows that her children will not go to bed hungry tonight — or the next day or the days after that.

The world is in a hunger crisis, with over 36 million children under 5 years of age acutely malnourished. In the midst of this unprecedented challenge, we have an invitation to step into the work God is already doing through people like you.

A Big Thank You from Kenya
Located just 150 kms (about 93 miles) outside of Nairobi, the Githabai community relies on small scale farming to feed their families. In recent years, rainfall has become less dependable, which means there is no means of watering their crops.
Together with our partner, Glory Outreach Assembly, and the generosity of donors like you, we are able to help meet this need. A deep water well was designed by local engineers that could provide irrigation for the growing of crops that would be able to feed hundreds of children year round, provide an income stream for orphanages, and bring a source of water to the entire community.
Georgraphy and topography make it tricky, and expensive, to bring clean, reliable water to a mountainous region like this. The well needed to be drilled over 800 feet deep!
A deeper well means a larger drilling rig and crew were needed, in addition to materials that would be sourced and transported across rugged terrain from Nairobi to complete the task.
And because of inconsistent electrical supply, a larger solar system was installed to operate the motorized pump, ensuring consistent water supply to those who rely on it.

This new solar-powered well, made possible by supporters like you, will provide the Githabai community with access to clean and safe drinking water, as well as irrigation for sustainable agriculture.
The expanded capacity of the solar-powered well providing irrigation means that the farmers in the Githabai community are growing high-value, nutritious vegetables that can be sold at the market, enhancing livelihoods, while also ensuring a stable source of food for all those within the community.
Thank you for supporting A Child’s Hope Int’l. I am truly so grateful for your commitment to helping us and our local partners bring thriving to children around the world.

Hope Sacks are Helping End Weekend Hunger
Every Friday afternoon, when the school bell rings, there’s a sense of relief among kids, welcoming the weekend.
But for many, weekends are a time of worry – two days to endure empty cupboards and growling stomachs.
That was until Hope Sacks came into their lives.
Packed by volunteers from A Child’s Hope Int’l, each Hope Sack contains nutritious meals and snacks designed to get kids through the weekend. For the 300 kids we currently serve each week, Hope Sacks are the difference between hunger and hope.
Meet Sofia*, a bright-eyed fourth grader from Cincinnati. Her mom works two jobs, doing everything she can to make ends meet. But weekends are always tough.
“Before Hope Sacks, Saturdays and Sundays were the hardest,” Sofia’s mom tells us. “I’d worry constantly about how to stretch our food until Monday.”
Now, every Friday, Sofia picks up her Hope Sacks on the walk home from school. Sofia and her mom find security in knowing that Hope Sacks will carry their family through.
The need in Cincinnati is great, with many families like Sofia’s struggling to provide enough food when school is not in session. To address this growing demand, we are excited to announce the expansion of Hope Sacks to Avondale where we will provide weekend meals to additional 150 kids every weekend.

With the expansion to Avondale, ACHI will be providing weekend meals to 450 kids every weekend, and for parents like Sofia’s mom, it’s a game-changer. “It’s a huge stress relief for me. It’s encouraging to know that someone cares, and it gives me hope to keep going.”
Our goal is to help every child have access to healthy meals without worry, and we do that with the help of your generous donations. Your gift will give children the strength they need to stay focused and energized and just be… kids.
For just $5 weekly, you can ensure a child has food to eat at home on the weekend. Will you give so that a child doesn’t go hungry this school year?
This vital work wouldn’t be possible without the compassion and generosity of people like you. Thank you for the many ways you already making a difference in the lives of children around the world.
