Alice Lloyd College recently ranked second in the state of Kentucky in the 2024 College Financial Grades by Forbes Magazine. The College received an impressive A- financial grade, placing it among the top schools in the state.
Forbes annually reports on the financial health of American private, not-for-profit colleges. The Forbes College Financial Grades are designed to assess a private college’s operational soundness and balance sheet. Eligible colleges are analyzed based on nine components: endowment assets, primary reserve ratio, viability ratio, core operating margin, tuition as a percentage of core revenues, return on assets, admissions yield, percentage of freshmen receiving grant aid, and instruction expenses per full-time equivalent.
Alice Lloyd College offers students a unique opportunity for a high-quality education at a low cost. Through the generous support of friends and donors across the country, the College is able to offer a tuition guarantee, ensuring that students do not pay any out-of-pocket tuition costs. Additionally, the College introduced the iPurpose Initiative last semester, which provides an iPad to all full-time students and provides textbook resources at zero cost to the student. The Student Work Program allows students to work in various areas around campus, building their resume and honing the soft skills employers are looking for in today’s workforce.
Mrs. Lloyd’s mission lives on as the College continues to provide opportunities to Appalachian students year after year, thanks to the kind support of alumni, faculty, staff, and friends across the nation. ALC is honored to be recognized and ranked among other notable institutions by Forbes magazine.
